Milk powder factory

Dairy giant FrieslandCampina is having its existing production site in Borculo expanded. Thanks to a close collaboration between Jorritsma Bouw, Kampstaal, Kamplacon and Beijer, it has been possible to construct a huge milk powder factory in a very short space of time. That should come as no surprise – after all, the considerable production capacity available within the GB Steel Group along with the short lead times that can be offered make Kampstaal the perfect construction partner!

1,250 tonnes of steel

Together with its sister company Kamplacon, Kampstaal has supplied and assembled all the steel structures for the new building. Including the steel cladding for the roof and façade, this amounts to around 1,250 tonnes of steel and roughly 22,000 m² of insulated cladding – not a small job by any means! Beijer Constructie, another sister company, has also contributed to this enormous project, supplying elements including the landings and expanded metal.

RFC Mountain

FrieslandCampina is a major player in the dairy industry: it is one of the five biggest dairy companies in the world and is number one in the Netherlands. The company is expanding its existing site in Borculo. Initially this will be used to process milk into milk powder. Children’s food will also be produced here in the future. For this site, known as RFC Mountain, Kampstaal and Kamplacon are taking care of the detail engineering, production, preservation and assembly of this impressively tall and massive structure, which extends to a height of roughly 45 metres!
